Roca offer The Gap round seat in three styles, and this is the premium one. Where the standard seat sits on top of the pan, the slim wrapover — sometimes called a sandwich seat — has a low, flat profile that wraps over the rim, concealing the pan edge and giving a continuous line from lid to ceramic. On a modern rimless or back-to-wall Gap pan, it's the difference between a bathroom that looks finished and one that looks like it has a replacement seat on it.

Soft close hinges lower the seat and lid gently rather than allowing them to drop. Beyond the obvious benefit of a quiet bathroom at night, it removes the repeated impact that cracks seats, chips ceramic and works fixings loose — which is the usual reason a seat needs replacing in the first place.
