⚠️ Check your programmer before ordering. The GW04 is for R17RFV2, R27RFV2 and R37RFV2 programmers. Older R_7-RF models use the GW01, and RFRF-OT / RFRP-HW-OT thermostats use the GW03. The gateways are not interchangeable.

The GW04 gateway is used to connect your EPH compatible wireless systems to the EMBER app. It utilises RF communication to connect to your heating controls while connecting to the EMBER cloud server via your home WiFi network, and is compatible with both 2.4GHz and 5GHz wireless networks.

That dual band support matters more than it sounds. Many modern routers combine both bands under a single network name, and older 2.4GHz-only gateways can fail to pair on them without the customer splitting their WiFi — a frustrating job that generates support calls. The GW04 handles both, so it works with the router as supplied.
