Air is the enemy of a heating system. It collects at high points, blocks circulation, causes the cold-at-the-top radiators everyone recognises, and makes pumps and boilers work harder than they need to. An automatic air vent removes it continuously without anyone touching a radiator key.

The mechanism is entirely self-acting. A float inside the brass body sits on the water level; as air accumulates the float drops, opening a small valve that lets the air escape, then rises and reseals as water refills the chamber. There's no power supply, no controls and no maintenance schedule — it simply works whenever air is present.
